It was late autumn, in November.
Around first snow of the season with mixed sleet, Kyoko went back her parents’ house in N town, Akita, with Saori.
Though her parents were getting old, they were healthy. The house was so spacious that Kyoko and Saori could easily live there. There was no problem for them to live there.
They were allowed to use rooms in a separate house upstairs, which was built about twenty years ago and led to the main house by a hallway with wide windows.
Kyoko used the Japanese room, and Saori used a western style room. Kyoko’s room was across from Saori’s room across a corridor. They were completely private rooms and comfortable for them.
Living with her parents and managing the household there, Kyoko also worked at her elder sister’s pharmacy as an office worker. Her sister lived in her own house near the parents. Speaking of the household, her father had a lot of visitors because he was a town mayor, so Kyoko was busy serving tea to them, as well.
